To install a cable management rack on top of a server rack, select the correct bracket for your rack depth, align it with the rack flanges, and secure it using screws through the designated EIA unit holes.Step-by-Step Installation1. Choose the Correct Cable Management BarMost systems include two bars: a wider bar for shorter-depth racks (e.g., 7014-T42) and a shorter bar for deeper racks (e.g., 7965-S42). Select the bar that matches your rack depth . 2. Mark Screw LocationsEach bracket occupies three EIA units.Use a sticker or pen to mark the middle hole of each EIA unit on the inside of the rack flange where screws will be installed . 3. Assemble the BracketAttach the cable management bar to the side brackets using the provided M3 screws. Ensure the assembly is secure before mounting . 4. Attach the Bracket to the RackHold one side of the assembled bracket against the rack flange at the rear of the rack, aligning it with your marked locations.From inside the rack, insert three screws through the rack flange into the bracket. Repeat for the opposite side . 5. Adjust the BracketUse the thumbscrews to tilt or reposition the bracket as needed to accommodate cable routing and ensure proper alignment .Additional TipsIntegration with Existing Cable Management: Horizontal cable managers are typically installed between rack units to organize patch cables, while vertical managers run along the sides for larger bundles. Installing the top bracket complements these systems by guiding cables entering or exiting the rack .Cable Routing: Plan cable paths before installation to avoid blocking airflow and to maintain easy access for maintenance .Secure Cables: Use Velcro ties or cable rings to prevent sagging and reduce strain on connectors .Labeling: Clearly label cables at both ends to simplify future troubleshooting and upgrades .
