Typical support spacing is every 1.5 to 3 meters for indoor risers and every 3 to 5 meters for outdoor aerial runs, depending on cable weight and type .In underground conduit or duct installations, intermediate pull boxes or support points should be placed to avoid excessive tension during pulling, generally every 50 to 100 meters for long runs . Separation from Power Cables:Fiber optic cables, especially those with metallic components, should maintain a minimum separation from electrical power lines to prevent electromagnetic interference and ensure safety. A common recommendation is at least 30 cm horizontally or 15 cm vertically from power cables . Bend Radius and Loops:Maintain the minimum bend radius specified by the manufacturer. For loose tube or ribbon cables, this is typically 20 times the cable diameter during installation and 10 times during static conditions .When leaving cable reserves or slack, use figure-8 loops of 2–4 meters to prevent twisting and mechanical stress . Conduit and Duct Spacing:In conduit installations, ensure smooth transitions at bends and avoid sharp edges. The inside radius of conduit bends should be at least 10 times the cable diameter .For direct-buried cables, maintain proper spacing between multiple cables to prevent crushing, typically 10–15 cm apart depending on soil conditions and cable type . Manholes and Handholes:When racking cables in manholes or handholes, avoid pinching against edges or corners. Cables should be secured with cable ties or trays and excess lengths coiled properly to prevent stress .Key ConsiderationsConduct a site survey to identify hazards, obstacles, and optimal cable routes .Follow manufacturer specifications for tensile load, bend radius, and environmental conditions .Document all installation details, including support intervals, separation distances, and slack locations, to ensure compliance and facilitate future maintenance .
